COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
STOPWATCH, DIGITAL, ELECTRICAL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE.
This commercial item description covers two types of electric digital stopwatches.
Type I- Time out mode timing with two separate controls for start/stop and reset.
Type II- Split mode timing with controls for freezing the display to give split time, while allowing the timing to continue. The start/stop and reset controls shall be separate.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
2.1 General. Any metal used shall be corrosion-resistant or treated to resist any type of corrosion, consistent with their normal functioning. The stopwatch shall be water resistant and of appropriate size and weight for hand held use. A minimum 100 centimeter nylon cord lanyard shall be attached to the stopwatch.
2.2 Power. The stopwatch shall be powered by one or two commercially available batteries.
2.3 Time display. The time display shall be a digital Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) reading minutes, seconds, and 1/100th of a second from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds; and equipped with automatic rollover to zero.
